CATCALL

Winnie Fenton is a free-spirited artist who is married to Judd Fenton, father of two teen-agers, a truck driver, and a philanderer. He's done a few things he wouldn't want his family to find out about. Jim-Bo Fenton, his son, has one goal for the summer: to get the girl he has a crush on. Fourteen-year old Jessie, who's longing to find the mother who disappeared when she was a little girl, finds more than she bargained for up in the mountains beyond the farm. Winnie, in the meantime, makes a few discoveries which will change her life in more ways than one.

Farther up the mountain, widower Martin Dodd spends a lot of evenings on his front porch, looking down on the Fenton home. He often hears the Fenton family fighting. He worries about Winnie and comes to realize he cares about her more than he should. He doesn't think Jim-Bo is a good influence on Skee, Martin's only child.
